i just purchased an smt5600 and i have no speakerphnoe option. my wedia player playes over the speaker but my calls will not. do i need the latest windows or firmware to fix this?

What happens when you press and hold the call button when in a call? That should turn speakerphone on.

thanks for the tip. it thru me off by not having that option under the menu function while in a call.
out of curiousity, what is the latest firmware and ver. of windows moble not being 2005 for the smt5600?

There were never any ROM updates released for the SMT. There's only the one version of the WM2003 ROM that shipped with the phone.

thanks again, maybe the difference in software between my buddies and mine is the carrier. oh well, im still happy.

That may be. The SMT5600 was first carried by AT&T. Then they were bought by Cingular, and Cingular then started carrying one that had a Cingular ROM on it. It was never a downloadable ROM, but I think there may be the two ROMs floating around out there. As far as I recall all Cingular did was add Cingular branding instead of the AT&T branding though, they didn't change anything else that I know of.
