Ok, I tried it before posting this request... I cannot change it.. do you tried?

I have also tried this, to no avail.
Currently looking into the possibility of getting the required dll file from another WM2005 device.
I have my doubts that this will help me anything, as I am sure some registry editing is also required.

Google here as well, as I needed a new phone and decided that I wanted the mpx200 more than any other phone. After some newbie questions and some ebay work i recieved the third mpx200 i know of in Norway.

I have the same problem, except for the fact that I'm looking for the Norwegian language - and I have no idea where to start. So for now I have to do without scandinavian characters. Why someone decided to make us use three extra characters is beyond me. smile.gif

*edit: problem now solved by enabling DHCP. smile.gif

Thanks to everyone who contributed with all tips and tricks here. I have now flashed my phone to WM2005, and it seems to be fast responsive. However, I have one (at least for now) problem. Activesync won't recognize it. I have reinstalled Activesync 4.1, deleted the previous phone connection and restarted both my computer and my phone several times.
The thing that really troubles me is that when I connect the phone, my computer recognizes it as a network card operating at 10mbps, and tries to aquire an ip address from it.
I'm on a 6mbit dsl connection with a static ip on my machine, so I really don't need gprs for surfing. Any tips?

1.0.

Great reception anywhere. But then again - here in Norway we have cell towers all over the place. One of the good things when living in a country slightly larger than New Mexico, I guess.

dry.gif I have the files (I think) to go to upgrade my phone to 2003 but not sure how to get started. I have SUPER_MOTO_2_MPX200_(WM2003).rar file. If I try and execute it, I get an error saying the system does not know what file to use to open an *.rar file.
Do I put this file on my phone then run it or what?

RAR-files are archived files (the same as .zip-files). You will need to install an application like WinRAR in order to get hold of the files inside. I think the file you have come with detailed instructions on what to do after unpacking.

I'm with smeg36 on that one. They were extremely fast as well. Went through the instructions on their site, changed tunes in Winamp, and there it was.

I bought a slightly used MPX200 about a month ago. It came with 2002, but I decided to go ahead and upgrade it to 2003 the first day. So far I'm happy, as I don't use MMS at all. My old crappy Nokia 6100 had MMS-support, and I sendt 1 single MMS in the 20 months I owned it. The phone is not hot at all running 2003. Right now I have been keeping the phone in my pocket for about 1hr, and it's still cool to the touch.
I also happen to have a Kingston 512mb in this phone, and it's preforming great. So no worries there, I guess. Hope this helps.

Sean; could you please check this for me as well? I haven't recieved my copy of PhotoContacts yet. Not that I'm in a rush; Motorola Norway does not sell smartphones yet. :redhotevil:
I run my own mailserver without any limitations, as far as I know. If they need another address, let me know.

gryph0n, thanks alot for your help.
Most of Norway have great 900 and 1800Mhz coveragge, so I guess that's all right.
However, it seems that a brand new triband phone is about $360, so perhaps I'll just get one from there.
Or maybe I'll just wait and buy the MPx220 when it arrives.

Hi, I'm from Norway, but I'm visiting NY early next week. I'm thinking about buying an MPx200 when I'm there, as this phone is still unreleased in Norway.
Could someone please tell me where to get hold of an unlocked MPx200 in the East Village area, as that is where I'll be staying?
What price should i expect to pay?

Thanks a lot for your help, sorry for the typos.
