I noticed the 8125 documentation said you can charge your phone by plugging it into your computer's USB port or using the charger. My phone does appear to be charging when plugged into the USB port. So, if I'm only at 85% anyway, will this damage the battery to connect my phone to my pc and it start charging. I've always had problems with batteries losing life by not allowing them to fully or almost fully die before charging and then fully charging them on my phones, pda's, etc.

With old batteries, that was true. With new Lithium Ion batteries, that is no longer the case. Charge away regardless of the current battery level.

THe Lion batteries with these new phones are most definitely MUCH better than the last generation... I Still believe that the first few charge cycles should be full charge and full (or close to it) discharge.. After that, there is theoretically no memory effect for LIon batteries. They still have a finite limit in charge cycles for the lifetime of the battery.. I've found that after 1.5 - 2 years of regular use, the battery capacity does start to lessen... just my experience and opinion.

I read somewhere that the batteries wont develope a memory, rather the phone will not meter the amount of reserve properly, if the battery is not discharged about once a month. any thoughts? huh.gif
