I just aquired a new 3125 from AT&T/Cingular. I cannot install software on it. Installing from Active sync appears to work on the PC but nothing shows up on the phone. So I copied .CAB files to the phone and ran them there. I would get an alert to confirm that I want to install this unsigned software. After clicking yes it would appear to install then it would give another alert stating that the software was not designed for this device then the .CAB files are deleted. What am I missing?

What software specifically are you trying to install? This will happen if you are trying to install Windows Mobile software that is designed for Pocket PC devices (touch screen devices).

Two were games for this device downloaded from a site linked from HTC's website. Third was Resco Explorer. And lastly SprintDB.

The only of those I'm familiar with is Resco, and it does indeed have two versions; one Smartphone and one PPC. Did you try to install this one or this one? I just looked up the SprintDB application, and looked at the system requirements page. It only lists it as being compatible with Windows Mobile PPC devices, not Smartphone OS devices.
