Hey so I've had my mpx200 for over a year now and it took a pretty good friday night fall... Everything seemed to be working fine but i noticed this morning i dont have service anywhere... even if i have bars of service it says "No Service"... anyways i was going to just buy a new phone but if anyone has any idea how to fix this or what causes it that would be cool...
Thanks
Dan

If it only started after being dropped, it's probably hardware related (which means it's really difficult to fix). Even so, I'd try a hard reset and a ROM flash just to be sure it's the hardware.

I tried a hard reset without any luck... ive never done a ROM flash but i dont think itll help.... i guess i'll just throw it around a little and see if it fixes itself, otherwise i'll just get a new phone...
Any suggestions on a fun new phone?

Judging from the time you have kept your MPx200, I am sure that you have grown partial to the WM Smartphone platform, and that you prefer flip phones. Well about the best thing out there is the Cingular 3125, and if you are a Cingular customer then you can get a pretty good deal on one if you don't mind the contract. If you prefer smartphone over pocketPC phone edition as I do, then I recommend the Cingular 3125 wink.gif

I'd also have to say the 3125. Unless you're looking for something with more power like a Pocket PC Phone or a phone with a thumb board. But if you want a Smartphone, I'd also recommend the 3125. It just looks so cool.

I am a Cingular customer but I got a phone upgrade less than a year ago and my brother uses that phone... I'm thinking about being cheap and scoring a used mpx200 for cheap on ebay or switching it up and getting an mpx220... it sounds that i will have service in more places and even better service all around since the phone is a quad band... also the quality of pictures dont really matter to me but i missed not having a camera or bluetooth on the mpx200.
Thanks for the advice.

I had the same problem with NO SERVICE on my mpx200.
This should repair the "radio". It is called mpx200gsm-fix.img
how to: the same way you flash any ROM images. Just run Motorola Upgrade Wizard and flash this image without reflashing the windows. tested on wm2003 ans wm5.
goodluck.
