Ok my battery recently died as in would not take a charge. So i bought another one from ebay. Well I get it charge it for a bit and power it up only to find that I get no service, no bars but my contacts and programs are all there though they quit after about 15 seconds and I can't get into alot of the settings.(i push the button but get no response.) It also only stays powered up for about 10-15 minutes before turning off. I went to the cingular store hoping it was my SIM but when i put a new SIM in it did the same exact thing. The cingular woman thought that the reciever might have gone out.

Any help/suggestions?

Do have a backup of your contacts and personal data from the phone? The reason I ask is you may need to hard reset the phone and you will loose anything you added to the phone.
