I always use BetaPlayer now called TCPMP.

Thanks. Just installed TCPMP. Seems to be working well.

I have a large collection of AVIs on my computer and would like to be able to copy them to the storage card on my phone and view them there. Using ActiveSync to open file explorer, I have no trouble copying the files to the storage card. And the files appear just fine when I browse using File Explorer on my phone. But opening them in Windows Media Player on my phone results in the error message, "Cannot play the file." I have tried this with five different AVIs of various sizes. What gives?

I have been using an 8525 for a couple of months. Most of that time, I haven't had wifi turned or a microsd card installed. But when I have had wifi turn on and a microsd card installed, my phone has frozen up unexpectedly every once in a while (a couple of times per day). The only way to "unfreeze" it seems to be to remove and reseat the battery and boot the phone back up. I am working on isolating the problem by turning wifi off but still keeping the card installed.

In the meantime, I was wondering, has anyone else experienced this problem? Any insights about what causes it?

I want to be able to:

1. Check and send POP3/SMTP e-mail on my phone while away from my computer.
2. Check and send the POP3/SMTP e-mail account using Outlook on my computer.
3. Keep all of the e-mail on my phone and on my computer in sync.

I have the Cingular 8525 running the latest ROM. I've set up ActiveSync, and the e-mail on my computer nicely syncs to my phone. However, I'm not sure how to set up my phone to check and send e-mail and have it sync to my computer. It seems I have to set up another e-mail account on the phone (separate from the one under ActiveSync) to check and send the same POP3/SMTP account on my phone.

Is there a way to keep everything in sync while checking/sending from my phone and computer?

I'm fairly certain that you can't hook an external monitor up to it. It's been a while since I saw a PPC with VGA output capability for an external monitor. I don't think I've ever seen a phone with it. I think some devices can connect to wireless projectors, but I don't know exactly what would be required to do that.

The closest I've found so far is the IA Screen Mirror:

"IA Screen Mirror(FP) is an effective utility that projects an exact emulation of your mobile device’s screen contents (LCD display) onto a connected external VGA output device, or television monitor via the Composite video or S-video terminals. In addition, it allows you to project and display multiple LCD screens on the VGA screen or TV screen simultaneously, 'freeze' them in the desired state, and maintain one as the active viewport. Flexible output control options let you control the allocation of CPU utilization, orientation, resolution, and color optimization/dithering of projected images."

I see laptop computers becoming obsolete when this capability is fully achieved on smartphones.

I know there are several VGA adapters available for some Pocket PCs, but I haven't been able to locate any info on whether it's possible to hook a Cingular 8525 to an external monitor. Is it possible? What are the results (what is the maximum resolution?) Would such an adapter use the mini-USB port?

I have a Motorola mpx200 running the 2002 OS. It seems from the site that the drivers only work with the 2003 OS, but I was wondering if anyone had tried it with the 2002 OS. Sometimes these things work even if they aren't officially tested and supported . . . .
