am a little confused about the 850 Mhz Band and all that stuff. I recently had a MPX200 that would not get any signal at all. I was told it was because it didn't support the new 850 mhz band. So I sold it and then got the P800 from Sony and had the same results. Neither got good signal when I was inside or driving, but when I use my OLD Nokia 3590 (BRICK) it gets great reception where my other two phones didnt? Why is that?!?!
Also could you suggest any good 850 mhz band phones that would work. I have around 400.00 to spend on one!
Thanks!
One more thing! And how come the 900/1800/1900 bands do not recieve better service?! I am soooo confused |

Well I got my P800 yesterday, and I must say that I hate it! It is extremly confusing, and to top it off, I was under the impresssion that it worked on the 850 mhz band...but NOOOOO it doesn't. So now I am sending it back and out looking for another phone.
Does anyone have any suggestions on which phone I should turn to? I want one that has PDA functions, and is an attention getter does any one know of any? |

QUOTE Thankins.
Please stick around and keep everyone up to date on your experience with the P800. I sure will! I will let you know all about it! I am sure my girlfriend will appreicate me telling you guys all about it, since I won't be bothering her! LOL
I just bought a bluetooth headset for the phone and it says it has a range of 33 feet! I am soooo excited for it!
I thought I would post a link to the website for the P800 in case any of you do not know anything about the phone

Well after owning my mpx200 for a little over 3 months now I put the thing on ebay, and it sold for 250.00 in less than 2 hours! I have went on and purchased a Sony p800 smartphone that runs the Symbia OS. It looks amazing, but I am rather sad that I am leaving the mpx200 behind, I use ATT would have done better with the whole 1900 band thing.
Has anyone around here used the p800 before??! |

QUOTE Im trying to use yahoo mail on my mpx too but i cant find the "=" key anywhere! Im new to this bear with me. thanks There are other ways to check hotmail and yahoo. Which you can do through Outlook so you can check you messages after your phone syncs with Outlook First you can use http://izzymail.com which is a paid subscription thing and they will give you a IMAP server for Outlook Or for hotmail you can download a program called Hotmail Popper (just google for it) and it is FREE and it allows you to check you mail through outlook which you can then download to you MPx200 with out having to pay for data charges using the above suggestions that the other guys gave you! Just read the instructions on hotmail popper and it will tell you how to do it |

QUOTE Hi I just got a moto mpx200 and am getting ready to flash the rom. I did what it said and pressed the right arrow while pluging in the usb to install the driver, which went fine. Now I want to fully charge it first before the upgrade, but heres my question.... now when I plug it in it doenst charge it just registers with my computer as a modem. If I remove the batt and try it again it charges but the computer doesnt reconize it........Cant the phone be reconized buy the computer aswell as charge it. Or does anyone know how to swap between the two modes.
Sorry if this is a noob question....
Thanks for any help you can give! Do you have the lastest version of active sync? I think ver. number is 3.71. Also you can charge it and have it sync'ing at same time. Anytime your computer is on your phone will be charging if it is connected to usb cradle. I dont fully understand what you mean by "having the computer recognize the phone and charge it as well" So I am assuming that you mean sync'ing it?!?! Like I said earlier make sure you have ActiveSync 3.71 and Microsoft Outlook installed (not outlook express) QUOTE now when I plug it in it doenst charge it just registers with my computer as a modem. Do you mean that the computer recognize the phone as a modem? if you can give us some more info that would be great! |

Does T-Mobile offer any prepaid services? Like that of ATT's Go Phone Plan? I have ATT Go Plan now since my credit isnt the greatest and I love it. But if the stories are true about the 850 towers and what not I will be switching |

QUOTE Has anybody found a way to actually enable the 900 band on an ATT phone? Hard reset and flashing with generic firmware do not work! Any other suggestions? Flashing the phone with the generic firmware should work. make sure that you have it enable under Settings>Phone Settings It should say Auto. You might also try changing it to just 900 and see if it works. If you are in the USA, the phone wouldnt use 900, since towers here dont use them |

QUOTE Hi All,
Solved the MMS() problem by reflashing the MPx200 and not performing a Hard Reset aferwards.
Seems like the ROM Flash installs some extras "applets" that get erased when you Hard Reset.
I am still interested in modifying the Home Screen to add "Voice Mail ()" so if any developer out there has "played" around with this, I'd love to hear from you.
Regards,
HilaireG hello Hilaire, try this link for the XML http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default....2homescreen.asp it has a lot of references so that you can do the XML by yourself. You might also look at this post. It has a homescreen that has the Coice Mail() on the home screen that you wanted. You do have to be a member of that forum though to download it. http://www.modaco.com/viewtopic.php?t=98193here is what the homescreen looks like that I was talking about! |

QUOTE Have you taken' a look over at www.coolsmartphone.com? They have a bunch of different home screen designs. Unfortunatly, you have to register on the site just to see them, but they do have a few good ones. Some are a bit to busy and loud for me. Others are kinda' neat. It is funny you mentioned it (the site) cause I was just there looking at them. I liked some of them, but still havent found one that has caught my eye. I guess the search will continue! |
