I upgraded my phone a while back to WM5. Recently I tried going a hard reset by holding the soft buttons and powering on and then pressing 0. I'm pretty sure i did it right, but now when i boot it says?

Typhoon PV/DVT
IPL 1.00
SPL 1.01.0109
GSM 11.3.13.C0
OS 1.1.0.511
OP 1.1.0.0

IU BUILD!
Test Only

Clean HIVE(1): N
Format Par.(2): N

Anyone have any ideas how to fix this? I am reading that I will have to reflash my phone. I have no problem doing this, but how do I do it? Can someone post instructions? Thanks

If you press 1 it will clean the hive, 2 it will format the partition. I don't remember if you want to do one, the other, or both, but pressing 1 or 2 will switch them from N (no) to Y (yes). I think you need to press 2 to format the partition. You can then continue to boot and it will hard reset.

I'll give that a try. If that doenst work is there any other way to get it to work without having to relash it?

Actually, I think I remember reading a while ago (I've not had a SMT with WM5) that flashing it was the only way to hard reset. You'll have to verify if that's true or not.

I got a mini sd card and i also got the WM5 rom from a website. I tried using winhex to clone the rom to the sd card. I got an error that says incorrect file size, but it still supposedly copied it. However when holding the camera button and pluggin in the usb cord, it will not give me an option to load from sd card. I dont think i am copying the rom correctly, or the WM5 rom i have may not be good. Does anyone have any ideas?

You have to enter bootloader mode on your smt5600 then run Run mtty1.42.exe , choose [USB], press Enter and you will see a prompt. and point to the rom file on your hard drive like this --->Type "l c:\wm5romfile <-- name of your rom file.

Does anyone have a rom that they could send me to fix my phone with? I dont think the rom i have can be used to flash the phone from an SD card. It would be greatly appreciated! Thanks

First you need to change the bootloader to SPL1010064 after that you can revert back to any wm2003se rom you like. I dont know where to download rom's but i can give you instruction how to do it.

Go to the folder where you extracted files from TyphoonNBFTools_0.3_SPL1010064_SPVServices.zip and run TyphoonNBFTools.exe
In menu select File > Open NBF... and load SPL1010064.nbf.
Right click on SPL1010064.nbf and select 'Emergency Flash' in popup menu.
Your phone will probably ask a permission to run TyphoonNBFTools.dll. Press OK.
Press OK untill flashing started.
When flashing is done disable USB connections in ActiveSync Connection Settings.
Reboot your phone (turn it off and on). It will run into bootloader.
Run mtty1.42.exe, choose [USB], press Enter and you will see a prompt.
Type "format BINFS" without quotes and press Enter.
When format is finished reboot your phone again. It will run into bootloader.
Run official update and follow the instructions. Wait untill it is finished.

Remember this can brick your device if you dont do it right.

Thanks for your help! The only thing is that i still can not get booted up. When i try right click on the bootloader it does not let me click on "emergency flash". I was able to get an tmobile rom loaded on my sd card, and then my phone finally took the rom from the sd card, but now when i turn it on it goes to an t-mobile screen and then to the tri-color screen. I really dont care if i have to run WM5 at all, i just want my phone back. Any other ideas?
