Has anyone been able to access T-zones homepage from their SDA? I have the full internet package so I think it should work.
TIA.

Indeed it should. Do you have the new US verions of the SDA with wifi? Does it have the data settings already in it? I assume you are having problems with it since you are asking if anyone is able to access it.
OT-Where in SLC do you live? I used to live in West Jordan, and have family that lives in West Valley City and Provo.

I haven't been able to do it yet, but I certainly could when I had my SMT5600. Very weird.

TIA. I have, and I don't have the internet package, I did it using either Wi-Fi or GPRS, I guess. There is a network type option needs to be set to "Internet" for it to work though.

I just purchased my SDA a couple days ago and have not been able to access T-zone. I have been a t-mobile customer for several years and have had T-zone service for awhile, and it always worked with my previous two phones. I talked to a few T-Mobile reps and they all gave me different answers but all were not able to help me. Finallly the Tech Support lady on the phone tells me my SDA does not support T-zone. I don't really trust her answer - I think she just doesn't know so gave me a cop-out answer. Can anyone give me any specific as to how I can get on T-zone without needing to pay an extra $29.95 a month on Internet service on my phone? Yes, I am in the US, and does have subscription to the T-zone service. Please help me!!! QUOTE (smeg36 @ Feb 20 2006, 09:09 PM) Indeed it should. Do you have the new US verions of the SDA with wifi? I had the same situation. I got a different voice plan that saved me money and am paying for the $30/mo Total Internet plan. I was told repeatedly by many techs that T-Zones does not work on the SDA.
I have read, on this forum and on modaco, that it's possible to manually set it up, but I'm fine with TI, mostly because of the open ports it offers.

I have T-mobile prepaid and I can get the basic t-zone homepage (just to check my minutes) but no web-browsing of any sort due to the limitations of prepaid. I had to delete the GPRS settings to force the phone to use the T-zones settings.

Yeah, CS doesn't know jack. You can access T-Zones, but you'll have to reconfigure the settings like mrdwong did. I can't say for certain anymore, but some have even reported success at getting online to the full web with the cheaper T-Zones plans, not the $29.99 plan. If you never use hotspots, you can use the $19.99 Blackberry connect plan as well, you just have to change your APN to wap.voicesteam.com in your data settings.

I'm gonna give this a shot, because $30/mos is just far too much for what I need/want/use.

Which are you trying, the $5.99 or $19.99? To get the $19.99, you have to change your phone on the T-Mobile website to a Blackberry, then change your data plan to the BB plan. I read it'll still work with the SDA/MDA, you just have to change the APN on the device from internet2.voicestream.com to wap.voicestream.com.

I'm going to give the $5.99 TMobileWeb a shot. I did have to change the phone type to get the option, so I simply put it back to my old phone (Nokia 6600), and selected it. I got a text message this morning saying that the changes should have gone through. I'll spend some more time today seeing if I can get it to work, and how well it does.

Our T-Zones CAB should set you up. See this post and try the T-Zones CAB. http://www.mobilegadgetnews.com/index.php?showtopic=11177

I followed the instructions on this post: http://www.modaco.com/index.php?showtopic=...ndpost&p=718250and it works fine in IE for web browsing, which is all I really want. The link that abatis posted probably does the same thing, but without all of the tedious number/character input. Here's to saving $24/mo!

As a quick update to that last post, I had success with the settings I'd put in manually, but found that MMS messages weren't working. After some tinkering, I removed the TMobile GPRS option from the GPRS list and the proxy that I'd added, and used the .cab files from abatis' link.
Success.

Way to go abatis, your cab is great. Kampf, are you able to access secure websites? I'm considering switching back to T-Mobile when my VZW contract is up, and would love it if I could use the $5.99 T-Zones to do everything. I'm specifically wondering if an Exchange server would work on it. I don't suppose you have one to try? Does the $5.99 work with EDGE, or only GPRS? I've seen conflicting reports on this one.

I'm able to get to the secure Yahoo! Mail site, but I have no Exchange server accounts.
EDGE and GPRS are seemingly independent of the service plan. Posts on other forums seem to support this. I've benchmarked it to a local ISP and found some respectable speeds at around 128kbps. It's difficult or impossible for me to tell which I'm connected to with the SDA.

Cool, thanks. Man, you can't beat $5.99 unlimited internet access. Well, you can't anymore at least. I remember the most wonderful year of my life when T-Mobile still had the open free WAP ports that got me free unlimited internet. What a year it was.

I am new to this forum and not much of a geek, but here's what I have. I have T-Morile SDA (My profile states 2125 becuase there was no choice for SDA) I used to have a Blackberry 7100t. I got an SDA last week. I left my plan to the $19.99 Blackberry unlimited. I got data without problems and without having to change anything. I am also using an Exchange server. 1) I cannot get to T-Zones. The TZ key defaults to the main T-Mobile website 2) No Google, no Gmail and no Real Player. Ok for Yahoo, MSN and other websites. 3) Some websites get error message that it needs Java and it does not work 4) Cannot open attachments in email Any help, ideas, tips will be appreciated! Do you think I should try the $5.99 plan and switch to WAP and see if I can get my exchange server to work? I could give it a try. I need some encoragement here!

The $5.99 T-Zones plan goes through a proxy, so chances are you'd have even less success, as proxied connections usually block a lot more ports. If you want access to all of this stuff, with support for it, you'll have to get the Total Internet plan for $30/mo.
I can't comment on Java compatibility, if I needs Java I use a PC. What kind of attachments are you opening in email?

Mobile IE has many limitations including Java.
