Mobile Gadget News :: Making Your Mobile Life Simpler _ Motorola MPx200 _ Mpx200 with Cingular wont connect to ATT towers?

Hi I have a mpx200 and a cingular sim card, one night I was talking to a friend and my battery went low so I pressed the ok button (at the battery is low screen) and it returned to the call. But the call ended and when it did I saw that the phone said no service. I simply went to the comp and plugged it up to recharge and tried to search for a network. For some reason now it will only connect to Cingular towers with the 1900 freq. of course but not the ATT towers like it used to. I went to check the preferred networks list and only T-mobile is there not ATT wireless and T-mobile like it used to be. Since in my area the ATT towers were the ones with the 1900 freq. my phone worked just fine and always had service. Now it wont connect to those towers and only connects to the cingular ones which there are less of.

Could anyone help me with this and tell me why it only says T-mobile on the preferred networks screen all of a sudden instead of ATT wireless being on the list as well? I tried adding a ATT wireless network but it says make sure you have coverage.

Did you call Cingular to see if the AT&T towers in your area are down? It could also be AT&T and T-Mobile had roaming agreements in the area, so even though you were connected to AT&T, it was actually a T-Mobile tower. Unlikely, but possible.
