Thanks alot! I've taken down your number... btw... do you have any idea if the MPx200 is 3G compatible? Like say if i use my mum's 3G sim card with the phone... will it work? I watched News from her Nokia 6280 and thought maybe i should be able to do so with my MPx200?

I bought it from this ebayer called "Wellcomchina" it costs about SGD$42 for the full housing with keypad inclusive of shipping.

It's really slow and the items are not here yet... however i will post soon when it comes.

I have my homescreen set to MSN pocket. I tried Windows Default and MSN Default but MMS did not show as well. I only installed the arcsoft cab provided from the link above. Wonder if it provides the plugins. Anyway thanks for the link for total commander... from what i see it's better than the smart explorer i'm using now... mmmmm let me try it! Thanks!

Thanks for all the trouble you took to get me the Singtel Cab file! Anyway i will post once i get it installed and working... However i did take note that to allow MMS count to appear on the home screen, a plugin is needed?

I actually bought the full housing from a china ebayer before ardec1 could reach me. Now the only fear is it does not come with the power button or the IR cover.

The current condition of my MPx200 is terrible. Much corrosion and peeling that it looks abit sick to put it at your face. Yes that's how bad it is. But i thought if i could replace the housing, why not change everything? (maybe i'm perfectionist).

Now the only problem is... the housing has not arrived yet... it's been past 2 weeks and i'm getting irritated. I ordered spare batteries from some NY ebayer and gotten them only under 7 days. I'm getting impatient. Haha.

The Singtel cab file i shall try next day when i get to use the PC. Currently on Mac. Thanks again!

New findings!

I need not add any GPRS connections. By selecting "advanced' in the 'connections' tab, i have all the settings set to automatic.

All i have to do is set the arcsoft MMS settings to connect to 'The Internet'.

It works fine now but maybe you should send me the Singtel files that came with your phone as well for me to try it out too.

However, is there any way i can use Arcsoft and have MMS shown on my homescreen? Like i have the SMS bar that shows the amount of SMS i have recieved at the homescreen. There used to be the MMS status bar when it was back in WM2002.

Thanks alot!

below are the instructions i needed for me to get my MMS to work from configuring connections > GPRS.

Instructions:

1. Press Programs > More > Settings > Data Connections > Menu > Edit Connection
2. Select GPRS Connections
3. Press Menu > Add
4. Enter Description IDEAS MMS
5. Enter Connects to MMS Connection
6. Enter Access Point e-ideas
7. Enter User name 65<Your Mobile Phone no.> eg. 6591234567
8. Enter Password <Your IDEAS account password>
9. Enter IP Address 165.21.42.84
Press Done and Home button to go back to main menu.
10. Press Programs > More > Accessories
11. Select MMS Setup > Profile
12. Press the right soft key (Profile) and Edit
13. Enter Profile Name <Your preferred name> eg. IDEAS MMS
14. Enter MMSC http://mms.singtel.com.sg:10021/mmsc
15. Enter Data Connections <Your MMS Connection> eg. IDEAS MMS
16. Enter Gateway WAP 2.0 Gateway
17. Enter IP Address 165.21.42.84
18. Enter Port 9201
19. Press Done and Home button to go back to main menu.

The problem for me:

I could not get step 5. done.
There are options to select connects to Secured WAP Network, WAP Network, Work, The Internet, but not MMS connection. The MMS connection selection was available on WM2002 but is missing for my WM5.

I'm using Singtel (SP) and i do have the instructions to set my MMS. There is an option when you set the GPRS. They have the Secured WAP, WAP, the Internet and also MMS. I went from start> more > settings > connections> GPRS> Add, but under the Connects to panel, i could not find the MMS option. I lost the CD that came with the phone which had an MMS application that comes along with it. After installing JMMS, the MMS option appeared when i set the GPRS. That being said... even if i have the CD, the JMMS might not work with WM5 as i only tried it on WM2002.

QUOTE (smeg36 @ Aug 28 2006, 11:30 PM) *
It could be the SD card you're using. WM5 on the MPx200 is really picky about the SD card you use, and can cause problems like this if you are using one it doesn't like.

Maybe we should pin up a thread with contributors listing down the various brands and size of SD or Mini SD cards that will work for the phone?

Recently, i found a problem with my MPx200. While i was talking to a friend, there was an incoming call and i wanted to switch caller. I asked my friend to hold on and i tried pressing the Answer option as i usually would on WM2002. The option flashes but the call was not switched to the other caller's line. In other words, i cannot pick up or switch to the 2nd caller. Is this a known problem? Anyone has the same experience or has a fix for the issue? Thanks!

May i know what does the button like battery on the mainboard of the MPx200 do? Does it need to be replaced and is it easy to find battery of that type in hardware stores? Thanks!

I was thinking of performing a Hard Reset on my MPx200 with WM5. I understand that part of the OS is actually on the SD card. Will i be able to perform the Hard Reset as usual and just leave the SD card in the phone slot? I decided to ask Just incase i brick my phone. Thanks!

Thank you tanerco, i found a way for registry unlock and i've finally installed the MMS software. I could deal with the settings on the MMS software itself but could not add an MMS settings at the GPRS phone setting. I went from start> more > settings > connections> GPRS> Add, but under the Connects to panel, i could not find an MMS network. The only available are, secure WAP network, WAP network, Work and The internet. My service provider specifically asked me to select an "MMS service" under that "connect to" section of the GPRS settings. Anyone knows a work around for this?

Omg... I got back too late... i managed to find a seller on ebay that sells the MPx200 casing brand new with keypad and bougth it already.
However, i realised it does not come with the following:

1) Volume Control black scroll button
2) Power Button
3) Infrared plastic area, black (i don't know if this is detachable for the main board)
4) SD, Earpiece and USB port covers

I would be interested to purchase the following parts provided that they are pristine. I feel so bad ardec1... maybe you have those stuff that i may need? Thanks again for your offer... i really appreciate it!

My MPx200 is like 2 years old and the paint job has peeled terribly. I would like to know where i can purchase maybe just the MPx200 body and do a case switch myself? I'm living in Asia, Singapore and this phone is quite hard to get here. I tried Ebay and yahoo auctions but i could not find any damaged sets. Maybe someone would be kind enough to show me a link to stores that sells just the body? Or if anyone has a bricked MPx200 that's in prestine condition willing to let go of your handset for a cheap price? Thanks!
