Sales of e-books are up more than 176-percent this year and expected to skyrocket this holiday season, yet accessing e-books from public libraries and multiple booksellers on iPads and iPhones has been unavailable until now. Bluefire Productions LLC announces the introduction of Bluefire Reader, the industry’s first iOS app to bring library books to iPads, iPhones and iPod Touches. Bluefire Reader is available as a free download in the Apple App Store and is receiving early raves from consumers with a four-star rating.

Bluefire Reader turns iPads and iPhones into full-featured e-readers with a marketplace of e-book providers, including public libraries; popular national booksellers such as Barnes and Noble, Borders, Sony and Books-A-Million; independent and specialty retailers; and free e-book distributors such as Feedbooks. Bluefire Reader makes it simple to consolidate, organize and read books through a consumer-friendly design and simple navigation features. Benefits include:

First application to allow access to public library books on iPhones, iPads and iPod Touches;
· Expansive e-book marketplace of libraries and leading and niche book providers and sellers;

EPUB and PDF e-book formats, and Adobe Content Server protection DRM support;
Full-featured customizations including adjustable text size, fonts and color schemes; text highlighting and annotations; bookmarks; night mode; and table of contents;
Simple, rich reading experience in a consumer-friendly and easy-to-use mobile app.

“Our goal is to give book lovers a freedom of choice that the market does not offer today, by providing access to books from all major sources from one application on the most popular mobile devices,” said Micah Bowers, founder of Bluefire Productions. “The ability to read library books on iPads and iPhones is a major step forward for consumers, including those in remote areas and with limited mobility who may find it difficult to visit the library in person. We are so pleased to support consumers in accessing the public library and provide opportunities for them to experience and expand their joy of reading.”

Before Bluefire Reader, consumers had to purchase e-books from proprietary online book providers or organize and access books using multiple e-readers. Bluefire Reader gives consumers access to multiple libraries and bookstores in one marketplace on iOS devices today and additional mobile platforms in the future. Bluefire makes it easy for e-book providers to join the Bluefire Reader marketplace, and works directly with libraries to help ensure downloading e-books into Bluefire Reader is simple and intuitive for consumers.
