Connect to : The Internet
Access Point: internet.com
User name : wapuser1
Password: wap
Primary DNS: 207.181.104.4
Secondary DNS: leav blank
IP address: Leav Blank

Remember to set IE to connect to internet and disable auto detect settings

You must have a data plan for this to work such as the 12$/month 2 mb
and not just the on demand service.

I'm subscribed to the navigate plan.

I've called rogers and they pointed me to the faq's. I got these setting:

Primary IP: 208.200.067.150
Primary Port: 9203
APN: goam.com
username: wapuser1
password: wap

This is what I have entered in my phone.

Connects to: Te Internet
Accesspoint: goam.com
User name: wapuser1
Password: wap
Primary DNS: 0.0.0.0
Secondary DNS: 0.0.0.0
IP address: 208.200.067.150:9203

Am I doing something wrong? I rogers won't help me beyond that. And motorola Canada say they can't help me and to call motorola US. That's not gonna do me any good.

I've also tries the media.com settings and the internet.com settings.

Yeah I tried them. I get a connection error message.

Unable to connect. Please verify that airplane mode is off and you have network coverage.

I have coverage but don't know what airplane mode is or how to turn it off. I doubt this is the problem.

On my phone I can't create WAP connection. I just use create a GPRS connection called Rogers WAP with the WAP settings and point the WAP connection to Rogers WAP. Is this right?

I've been getting that same unable to connect error no matter what I put in. I know I have network coverage cause the phone shows the "G" icon for GPRS and I did sign up for Rogers mobile navigate plan.

Rogers won't help cause it's not their phone and Motorola Canada won't help cause it's not available in Canada. They gave me the Motorola US number but I doubt that's gonna help. Anyone in Canada got it working with Rogers?

I got my phone today and I'm getting the same error message. I've followed the instructions provided above though I could not find where I could add WAP connection. I purchased the phone off a guy on ebay and its got the AT&T Wireless printed on the phone. Help pls.... the main reason I bought this phone was to use it for the internet while I'm on the road.

Jaff,

I wanna try these settings again. I might have screwed up when entering the info.

In Data connections>edit connections>add GPRS connection:
I created the GPRS connection with internet.com - Rogers NET
I created another GPRS connection with the goam.com info - Rogers WAP
---did I do this part right or is there a way to create a WAP connection?

In Data connections>edit conections>add Proxy connections:
I created a Proxy connection with third set of information

In Data connections:
Internet connection: Rogers NET
Work connection: none available
WAP connection: Rogers WAP
Secure WAP connection: none available

Did I do any of this wrong?

I did not create a wap connection and the info is as follows

connect to
The internet

Access point
Internet.com

user name
wapuser1

Password
wap

Primary DNS
207.181.104.4

secondary DNS
0.0.0.0

IP address
Leav Blank

These are the settings I have programed and they work just fine
I use IE and MSN msg all the time as well as check my E-mail.
The only thing I can think of is that you dont have the proper data plan

I hope this helps good luck

Wow guys, I have the same damn problem, I just signed up with Rogers and the Mpx200, and followed Jaff's instructions to the teee, and still nothing, the first two months they are throuwing in 2 free months of the $12 plan, (2MB) maybe thats the problem, maybe we need to set up the proper plan in order to get the net working,

im really worried about this, I bought this phone for its clear use of the net,

I hope we can solve this problem.

"mms.gprs.rogers.com"

where does this line go??

guys, i have a feeling that its more the fact that we dont have the proper package in our plans to work the net on the MPX200, I believe you need the $12 package in order for it to work, like Jaff said. I have tried every possible combination of all these setting that have been provided and no luck, I will have a good talk with one of the reps at rogers tommorow and see what i can come up with, il keep you all posted.

You must have a package I had no Internet until I got a plan and then the setting at the top of this page worked like a charm. I came to this conclusion after speaking to a Rogers rep. good luck

GOT IT!!!!!!!!!

k guys, this is what you do:

its simple, like gryph0n said, you need to use these settings, il show you step by step:

From home got to settings/data connections/ then click on menu/edit connections, then click on "GPRS connections", click on menu and "add" then Create GPRS connection:

Description: Rogers Net
Connects to: The Internet
Access point: internet.com
User name: wapuser1
Password: wap
Primary DNS: 207.181.104.4
Secondary DNS: 0.0.0.0
IP Address:

click on done, now follow the same steps and Create WAP Connection:

Description: Rogers WAP
Connects To: The Internet
Access Point: goam.com
Username: wapuser1
Password: wap
Primary DNS: 0.0.0.0
Secondary DNS: 0.0.0.0
IP Address:

click on done, and now click on "proxy connections", click on menu and "add", then Create Proxy Connection with the following information:

Description: Rogers WAP Proxy
Connects From: The Internet
Connects To: WAP Network
Proxy (name port): 208.200.67.150:9201 (or 208.200.67.150:9203)
Type:WAP
Username: wapuser1
Password: wap

remember, you need to do all three things, and double check everything, they need to be exactly as shown above, ( I actually whent back and noticed a few mistakes my self, which is why I could not connect). Now, go back to home page, click on IE, and click menu, click on "options", click on "connections", uncheck the box so does not automaticly detect settings, and where it says "select network" click on "the internet", click on done, click on done again, and AWAY YOU GO!!!!,

this should work for all of us, please ask if you run to any problems!!!,

I have set everything up EXACTLY as described. I was ONLY able to get everything working via WAP and not "The Internet". I don't know if this makes a difference, only that google.com was veyr barren unlike my friend's.

Also, your instructions leave out what to choose under "Data"...do we make Net = Rogers net and WAP = Roger's WAP?

Let me be more clear:

I've now set up everything exactly as above. I am on the $12 / month plan.

If I set Internet Explorer to use "The Internet", I get NOTHING. If I set it to use "WAP" then it works, but I get crappy WAP pages, and not the HTML ones.

Is it possible that that $12/ month is WAP-only and not the full GPRS?

Ok I got it working:

The problem was the idiots at Rogers. They set me up for WAP access and not full GPRS.

You don't need to set up WAP or Proxy.

Just set up "The Internet", internet.com as the connection, "wapuser1" and "Wap" settings etc and the proper domain and you're gold.

Hey guys, I haven't seen any new postings on here for months, but just in case anyone needs help with the internet using the Motorola MPX200 on the Rogers Network, use these settings. I had so much trouble with this, and Rogers only made things worse. Some of the seetings posted by others on here were a little off as well. Use these settings and you should be ok. Email me with any questions.

In Internet Explorer, go to options, connections : Automatically detect settings, connect to the internet.

Go to Programs, Settings, Data Connections. The Screen should say:
Internet Connection: Rogers Net.
Work Connection: None available
WAP connection: Rogers Net
Secure WAP: None available

In Data Connections, go to Proxy Connections
Name it Rogers WAP Proxy
Connects from: The Internet
Connects to: WAP Network
Proxy (name:port) 208.200.67.150:9201
Type: WAP
User name: wapuser1
Password: wap

In Date Connections, go to GPRS
Name folder Rogers Net
Connects to: The Internet
Access Point: internet.com
Username: wapuser1
Password: wap
Primary DNS: 207.181.104.4
Secondary DNS: 0.0.0.0
IP address:

In Data Connections, go to GPRS
Name folder: Rogers WAP
Connects to: The Internet
Access Point: goam.com
Username: wapuser1

Well I am going to echo something that many have said before... But after many futile hours trying every combination I could find to connect my mpx200 to the internet, here is what finally did the trick:

A tech at Rogers switched my plan from WAP to internet!!! I don't know how many times I called in before and got the standard "Call Motorola" or "Check HowardChui.com" or "Why yes you do have the data package on your phone". And the ONLY settings I need to connect?

Settings | Data Connections | GPRS Connections

Rogers Internet
The internet
internet.com
wapuser1
wap

Internet connection: Rogers Internet

Internet Explorer Connections: auto, The Internet

That's it! No DNS settings, or IP settings, or proxy, or WAP.

Ok so i have a fairly tough situation and i hope someone here can help me out. I bought an ipaq 6945 on ebay before rogers released the 6955. i am having a ^*&& of a time getting the wap, mms, etc setup. What i am hoping is that someone on here has a ipaq from rogers and can coach me through setting it up, or has had the same problem as me. So i would appreciate any help that can be thrown my way.
Thanks in advance everyone.
