At this time, the update is free for BlackJack end users.

How Long Will The Upgrade Be Available For My SGH-i607?
Currently, there is no plan to remove the upgrade after this initial release.

If I Purchase A New SGH-i607, Will It Come With Windows Mobile 6?
There are currently no plans to roll out Windows Mobile 6 from the factory. It can be found online on Samsung’s website.

Does This Upgrade Contain Fixes Mentioned With The GB4 For My SGH-i607 That Was Released Last Year?
The HA1 S/W does incorporate fixes made in the prior release. See the list above.

Do I Need to Upgrade To The GB4 S/W For My SGH-i607 Before I Can Upgrade To HA1?
The HA1 S/W can be applied to a BlackJack running either FJE or GB4 S/W.

If I Decide I Do Not Like The Update For My SGH-i607, Can I Reload The Old GB4 Software?
It is not recommended to regress backwards to a previous software load. Any attempts to perform a regression may render the handset inoperable. The GB4 S/W has been replaced with the HA1 on our website.

Will Samsung Release Windows Mobile 6.1 For My SGH-i607?
Currently, there are no plans to release Windows Mobile 6.1 for the BlackJack.

Thanks for the info, Undude. I have the update DL'd, but given what you're saying I don't feel a compelling need to update.

Bah, I would sooner repair this phone than get a new one... It has everything I want, movies, mp3's and emulators wink.gif Don't be afraid to open it up... There is one connector between the circuit board on the back panel and the main panel, and as soon as I put both back together, they lined up perfectly and reconnected with no problems. As long as you have a fine-tipped soldering iron, it's just a matter of touching the contact back on BEFORE you use the epoxy or jb-weld to keep the connector from moving. The solder that's already on the board will melt and re-create the broken connections.

If you need any help or aren't sure of something post here and ask, pics would probably help if possible/needed. And like you said, worst case scenario, you still get a new gadget... or, you put it all back together and use a desktop charger to charge your battery...

As for mine, kind of an update here, it still charges with no problems and the USB still works like a charm. cool.gif

So "heat the work, not the solder", is what you're saying? wink.gif
I have a soldering iron, but I'm no expert w/r/t technique. And I'm not sure it's fine-tip. But I'll figure it out. Like you say: worst-case scenario, I still get a new device.

My MPX22 is kinda freaking out.

To begin with, I'm having the "failure to charge/connect to PC" issue that seems so common. That's enough of a hassle, and I don't know if I want to go thru the red tape of either fixing it myself (using the handy info posted here on MGN) or getting it fixed.
Any input people could offer on their experiences resolving this problem would be welcome.

So then, as of like 2 days ago, the Calendar MRU has suddenly dissapeared from my Home Screen. The Calendar works, and syncs w/ Outlook (when it connects, that is), but events are no longer displayed in the 'Windows Default' homescreen layout, which is what I typically use.

FWIW, I'm using ROM v.1.43 (the Cingular/ATT one), and in general have found it stable for over a year.

Any ideas as to why this suddenly happened? Thanks!

Thanks! This is great info.
My MPX has just started this nonsense in the last couple weeks. Thoroughly annoying!
I have been strongly considering ditching it in favor of a Blackjack, but this post gives me pause.

I might see if I have the chops to fix it based on these instructions. Worst case scenario, I still get a new gadget.... wink.gif

I think you can set the general "Reminder" sound for the phone through the Settings menu. That should work for Task reminders.

I had a month-long number porting odyssey w/ AT&T. You have to call directly to the Porting Administration Group, or you won't get anywhere. And even then you're going to have to scream til you're blue in the face. From the bottom up, their customer service sucks; terrrible attitude about the whole thing.

The PAG number is 1-800-243-6530. Go to town on 'em. smile.gif

Good luck.

Glad to hear I'm not the only person in this boat. Although it seems rather obvious I'm not -- there's no way even the most incompetent of companies could take 3 weeks to port a single number if I were the only one in the queue. Then again, this IS AT&T we're talking about.....

Yes, I've been waiting to get my Cingular number ported to my ATTWS Mpx200 since 11/25 (!!!!!)

Just to add my numbers to the stats, I've been on the phone w/ AT&T at least 15 times. At no time have I waited less than 10 minutes to speak to them. Once I sat on hold (speakerphone at work, thank god) for over 2 hours -- and that's just getting to tier 1 customer svc. I've spoken to AT&T's PAG at least 7 times, and not once have they been the least bit effective. Average hold time there is well over a half-hour per call.

Apparently my issue has been hot-ticketed, but that happened last Saturday and here it is Thursday and I'm still carrying around 2 #%&$ing cell phones.

I expect I'll be able to actually use my great, wonderful, does-everything-I-want-it-to, no-complaints-here MPx200 sometime after Jan 1. That's the best forecast I can provide, best on AT&T's performance so far.
