I have a demo Voq phone for another day or two. It's pretty cool. It starts off with a standard phone keypad and that keypad opens up if you want to use a thumbable qwerty keyboard. I also have a conference call with the maker (Sierra Wireless) tomorrow. Let me know if there's anything you want me to find out about it. It looks like it's just an SD slot and not an SDIO slot. It has smartphone 2003. Can't get them to give a better eta than 1st half of next year. Can't get a firm price yet either. It will cost less than a MS PDA is all they will say. When you start typing from the "My Voq" screen it searches your contacts, call history, favorites, web history and probably other apps looking for matches. Here's the URL if anyone wants more info: http://www.voq.com .

Does it look as bad in person as it does in the pictures? My first thought when I saw that phone was that I couldn't believe anyone would produce something that ugly and expect it to sell.

It’s definitely not as sexy as the MPx200. The Samsung i600 looks better in real life than the pictures but the Voq looks pretty much like the pictures. It’s surprisingly light. Lighter than the MPx200. Feels like all plastic.

Anyone seen this one? I own an mpx200 and love it, but if it only had a qwerty keyboard. There are rumors that these will be running the Microsoft mobile/smartphone platform in the near future, as I guess Microsoft owns Slate:
