Months ago, I changed my startup/shutdown sounds to the T-Mobile ones and it didn't work...I then tried to restore the Cingular one, but nothing...I don't even get that Cingular tune when it first starts too. I guess that part is good, but I'd like to get the T-Mobile ones working.

Very nice looking skin! I like the progress bar and being able to see what play modes are being used. The colors are also very nice.

What are the little numbers and the vertical row of dots up by the battery indicator?

I have wmp10. Is there a way to upgrade to 11? Or, why won't this work on wmp10? Are the skins specific to the player?

Hey buddy, not sure if you got my PM at modaco, but that clock is from xbar. Peace...

This may not be the right forum, but I made (edited a previously-made one...lol) this skin and think it looks nice on the Cingular 3125...

The ROM on the Qtek has a missed call problem, where after a certain period of time, it would "fall asleep" and not receive calls. That's the main difference, so if you get the Qtek 8500, you can flash it with the iMate one...There is a Cingular 3125 ROM out there, but due to hardware reasons (128MB ROM), I believe you cannot use it on the Qtek or iMate...Hope that helps.

I've been eyeing this phone for months now, like others here...lol...I just bought an Mpx220 b/c my SMT5600's charging port died sad.gif Would have easily done a contract extention and paid $149 for this...Guess I'll wait a few months til this gets cheaper/eBay or T-Mobile gets something similar (highly doubtful). Or maybe take Gryphon's imate for $100?...j/k

I just tried it on an old MPx200 and it scratched the mother$^&#*%...I was careful too. The logo came off, but there were some dark scratches...Stick to the acetone method, which worked really well on another MPx200 I had years ago.

P.S...So since I was the guinnea pig, who can get me a discounted Qtek 8500?...lol.

Yeah, I've had smartphones forever, so it's something I'm getting used to...but is the 1.53 really the newest and not the 3.46? Thanks...

(If so, what diff.?)

Is 1.53 really the newest?...I thought it was 3.46...Any big differences? Most other forums I've seen, they say there aren't really much differences...

Anyways, I've been killing myself trying to figure out why the SMS is not bold when it's new...I've tried editing different registry settings, but nothing...

The registry: HKLM\nls\SystemLCID

When you change 2052 to 1033, which is the US setting for changing the way a contact's address appears (Address, City, State, Zip instead of the other way around), it also adds a boldness to the font in the taskbar and the messaging menu (text mess, outlook, multimedia)...Any ideas why?

If anyone can solve the SMS bold problem, I'll pay you!!!...Sometimes I forget to read a new text b/c it's not bolded...oh well, guess I'll get used to it if no one solves it...

I would speculate around September. I think I read somewhere that Cingular was looking at the Star Trek -- also the Hermes, which is an upgrade to the Cingular 8125 device and adds a jogwheel.

1.  The backlight on my keys is slightly dimmer near the edges of the outside keys (1, 3, 4, 6, 7, 9, *, and #).  The 3 key looks no different than the others in terms of brightness though.

2.  That is weird.  I had better signal with the SMT everywhere compared to the MPx200.  I had the exact opposite experience with the MPx200/SMT related to dropped calls.  My MPx200 would drop  calls, and my SMT would keep them no problem in the exact same areas.

Thanks for the reply smeg...Yeah, it is weird...Hopefully this wasn't a refurbished phone with problems that was sent back...I bought it on eBay as "brand new" from a reputed dealer..Anyways, maybe an upgrade to 5.0 would help, but I wanna use my camera for now.

I just bought an SMT5600 and it's easily one of the best if not the best phone I've ever owned, in terms of functionality...There are 2 "problems" I have with it though and would appreciate input...

1. When the keypad lights up, the lighting behind the "3" and surrounding keys is dim, almost like an LCD light has been burned...Does anyone else see this on their phones?

2. My previous phone was an MPx200...While the RF was pretty bad on that phone, it properly displayed signal strength, whereas witht SMT, I will have no bars in places I had 2 bars with the MPx, but still have similar reception. Also, I never had a dropped call with the MPx and I've had 2 already with the SMT...This doesn't go with everything I've heard about the SMT having great RF.

Just looking to see if others have had the same problems and what they've done, if anything, to fix them. Thank you!

I know it's against the rules to post ROMs, but I have used clues on this forum and others and cannot find anything...A "clue" in my PM box would be appreciated. Thanks!

Forgot to add that I will burn the Windows Mobile 2003 ROM and flash instructions and throw that in with the phone.
