Every day new people are discovering MGN. Hopefully, you'll find it to be a tremendous resource. Your registration and participation is what keeps it interesting.
So, in your own words could you tell us how did you first find MGN?
For myself, I think it was a Google Search that lead me here.
I found it after I bought my MPx200, and found it via a Google search for MPx200.
Same, bought a 200 and googled the site. Been glad I did!
Contrary to what I think the most common answer is going to be, Google, I found it through another Smartphone forum. When I first decided to try out a MS Smartphone, the MPx200 wasn't yet available. So I got the cheapest one I could find, an Orange SPV (the first, original retail MS Smartphone). Through Yahoo searching (I still used Yahoo instead of Google back then, it was that long ago) I found MSMobiles.com. I didn't really like the site, so I went searching again and found Modaco.
After I had my SPV for a couple months I decided it was time for an upgrade, and that was shortly after the MPx200 came out. I got a MPx200, and in the process of reading up about it over at Modaco I saw posts to www.mpx200.org (which became MGN). So I joined up and have been coming every day since.
I found it in my head and now it is here (Sorry I just had to chime in)
Sean,
I've wondered for a long time how you were the site founder, but "Member No. 2"?????
I found MGN through Google as well, and had been a long time reader of the site for info until I decided to register recently.
Ahh yes, the member # 2 thing, that bugs me too. Member #1 was a hidden super admin that was instituted by the old PostNuke software we used in the original MPx200.org site. This user was there in case the admin accounts got hacked, I could log in as the super admin and set it all back right. When we migrated to the Invision Power Systems software a year ago, this user number one was lost in the conversion because it was hidden from the converter. So here I am, number 2. I thought about changing it once time but the amount of work involved (every post is tied to a member number, not a name) was not worth the effort so that I could be cool number one.
I think I found it through another forum. This was before I got my 200 in December 2003. Notice my nice, low member number?
Mr. Slacker told me about the site.
Google here as well, as I needed a new phone and decided that I wanted the mpx200 more than any other phone. After some newbie questions and some ebay work i recieved the third mpx200 i know of in Norway.
Yes, the MPx200 url naturally rises high in a google search for PMx200 info, and this is my guess why the Motorola Forums are so lively.
I think also a lot of the links from other sites to MGN are based on the MPx url...
Met an IT guy who had one. He came in to do some work on one of my customer's laptop while we worked on his plane.
