I was about to get rid of my cell phone and sell my Pocket PC and just buy the 6315. I hate losing out on the $100 rebate from T-mobile but I really like the device.

Don't the ones from HPshopping.com come unlocked?

To answer my own question, No. They come locked and with a SIM card. sad.gif

Unless somebody else knows, the only way to check if it is unlocked is to try another carrier's sim card. If the phone works, it's unlocked.

The 6315 is locked to T-Mobile, the 6340 (I think) is just like the 6315 but is unbranded and unlocked. If you have been with T-Mobile for over 90 days they will give you an unlock code for your 6315. I have done that personally, I called 611 and the next day I had detailed instructions on unlocking. Unlocking does not require a forgien SIM, you actually will need a T-Mobile SIM to unlock that 6315.
