Hey guys got a couple of question for you and anyone that can help, I appreciate it in advance:

1. I tried installing the registry hack that AndrewSH Posted, and I think I was successfull, although i didnt udnerstand the directions very well so if someone can confirm these steps:

- I put the car dinto the card reader, with "show all hidden files" and all its options, checked.
- This is where I had the confusion. I then put the the "defualt.hv" file in the windows folder.
- Restarted the phone, then did the activesync, then I ran the application unlock from the desktop. the program reported successfull.
-Restared again, then again I was confused here. I coped the "Cert.cab" file into just the root of the SD card. The instructions said to "run" the file and the only way I know how to do that is with a file manager. So installed Resco explorer and ran it. I restarted again, and everything is kool now.

So my question is, did I do this right?

2. Secondly, I only did this hack, because I got "permissions" error messages when I installed Resco Systemtoys. So i went to these forums and found this hack. But I am unlcear as to what this hack exactly does? (sorry if I sound stupid)

3. Thirdly, anyone know of a good freeware sim manager? I REALLY need to import the contacts to my phone.

Reply fast guys! Thanks!

What help do you need?
You unlocked the registry. That's it.
Main thing - you changed
HKLM\Security\Policies\Policies\00001001
Value 2 to 1. Now you are authorized to do whatever you want with tweaking and installations.

Hi, Andrew,

Could you give the link of your registry post? Or can you resend it again? I did several search in the forum and could not find it.

Does this registry change improve the speed of wm5? I flashed my phone with wm5 and its respons is too slow and I have to flash it back to wm2003. I hope this registry editing will speed it up so I will flash to wm5 again.

Thanks

Any other device you can use to read/write the card?? Another MPX200 with the older rom installed?? a digital camera?? If not: find someone who has such a device. Where I live those readers cost around € 10,= for a multi-card reader rolleyes.gif

It sounds like the registry is not unlocked.

Go through the forum and find the post by AndrewSH to unlock the registry.

After that you can run OMAP without any problems (just don't go higher than 144MHz. or it will lock up).

I followed Abatis' suggestion and found this post:
http://www.mobilegadgetnews.com/index.php?...ost&p=45552

AndrewSH attached a zip file to that post called Registry_Unlock.zip

I hope that's what you're looking for. The entire thread is 11 pages long so I didn't read it all since I'm not actually doing this hack myself. If the above link isn't what you're looking for, then you can dig through the entire thread. What you're looking for is in there somewhere.

Good luck!
