Well Jeyo works perfectly as advertised, it's fun to be able to whip through text messages using a keyboard biggrin.gif. MS Remote Display Control, on the other hand, is amusing. I download it onto the connected computer, run the install where everything goes smoothly. Problem is, once it's installed you need to activate it through the phone which I can't see, hehe. The instructions state that once I have the phone connected via active sync and the Remote program open I then:

3. On the device, tap on Start -> Programs -> cerdisp.
4. Tap OK -> Connect
5. Leave Hostname as PPP_PEER and tap OK

Problem is, can't get past step 3. D'oh. Well, if anyone is bored and would be inclined to run through this for me, and write down the button steps I'd be extremely grateful. Otherwise, I'll continue to use Jeyo, thanks again for all the help guys!

Good morning and happy new year MPx'ers!

well, I finally did it, I killed my phone. I was being a little careless and it fell out of my pocket, rebounded off the wall, and the inner LCD was destroyed. I can see roughly the top 1/4 still, the rest is shattered.

My question is it possible to pull off the data on the phone onto a computer via the USB port? Pictures/songs are easy, but what about my contact list (those not on the SIM card) or text messages that I can't read? Is it possible to pull this kind of data off?

As always, thanks for the help!

Perhaps a dumb question but please bear with me. When the phone is on anything other than vibrate mode, when you hit a key it makes a tone. I've looked in all teh settings for sounds and elsewhere that I can find, but I can't find an option to turn this beep/click/whatchamacallit off. Such as when the phone's on vibrate or silent mode, no dumb sounds come when hitting a key. Any idea how to turn it off when on Normal or Outside modes? As awlays, thanks a lot guys.

Well, tried the hard reset route and still having the problem mad.gif . AN added little bonus (explitive explitive eplitiving eplitive) is now ActiveSync won't see the stupid phone. Tried deleting/re-installing ActiveSync a few times, tried different situations with turning the phone on when connected to the computer, or just hooking the running phone up, no changes. Windows obviously sees the stupid phone as whenever I re-install ActiveSync it gives that little bubble in the lower right corner saying "found new hardware... instaling MPx220..." and then no dice in the ActiveSync window. JUst for reference I'm using the USB cable with Windows XP. I don't get it, previous to the hard reset it worked perfectly. ARGH!

Hello again Mpx220ers,

For the last few weeks I've been having some agravation with the exterior screen but now it's seemed to have spread to the inside one also. The outside screen will occasionally go blank, or the text will get all jumbled and impossible to read. Not a huge deal, I could work with that, mainly frustrating when trying to take a picture as it now refuses to show up on that screen. Starting this weekend, my interior screen will go completely blank also. Only seems to happen after the door's been shut and I open it up, screen is an off-white color. Found out I can power it off/back on by holding on the power key to fix this, but this turns into a battery eater/pain in the butt. But, if I find the screen FUBAR'd and wait, it sometimes goes back to normal after some time has ellapsed. Any idea as to what causes this/a more permanent solution? If I kepe the phone open the screen behaves fine, I'm stumped here.

Thanks for your help!

Tilt your head to the right and look at it. "<3" cool.gif

So, I downloaded RJshortcut and installed it on my phone, but can't figure out how to use the stupid hting to save my life. Do I need to find another program to edit the actual .XML files, or for that reson, where is the actual file I want to manipulate? Gah, this is such a head ache.

Hello fellow-MPx220ers! Question for you guys, I was wondering if it is possible to chose, and lock, the quick launch shortcuts that are on the homepage. Sorry if I'm nto wording this correctly, or even calling it by the right name, but you know the little list of icons that scroll through any recently opened documents/programs/etc that exists on the homepage? For whatever reason, I'll open up say WMP and it'll show up there for a bit, but I'll be damned if it doesn't simply disappear after opening up some other programs. Now I'd understand why as the list is populated by anything recently opened, but for whatever reason some other programs that I had opened before WMP would still be on the list but not the WMP itself. Seems like it happens for other examples as well, such as the task manager or file manager, any ideas?

But the short of it is that it'd be great if I could 'lock' that list so that it only includes what I would like, is this possible?

Again, thanks for the great resources on this website!

Thank you for the welcome and your help Tiger, and I'm so close to getting this bad boy to cooperate with me. I took yoru advice and downloaded TCPMP but isn't it just my luck, when trying to play an .mp3 it gives me the message that the MPEG4 AAC decoder is no longer a part of the standard installation package due to "intellectual property considerations." Thank you RIAA dry.gif

So, I tried to convert the .mp3 to a .wav file and whoa momma did it blow up in size, something like 2.8MB to 15MB blink.gif Good news is that this format will run, bad news being that I can fit maybe two songs. So, I guess my next step is to hunt around for this decoder, thanks again for your help!

First off, what a fantastic site biggrin.gif Chock full of good info, I've only had my MPX220 a few days now but have already learned bunches more here than from the manual.

I apologize if this is redundent/not appropriate, I did first search the forum several times but was not able to locate an answer. I'm running the 1.43 ROM (straight out of the box if that affects anything) and I saw on a previous post that the phone does support the .mp3 file format. So, being intensly curious as to how it would sound, and not having a dedicated player, thought it'd be fun to pop a few onto the new phone. Connected the phone to my computer, dropped a test song into the Storage > Application Data > Sounds folder, but am unable to play it. Is there an update I need in order to do this, or a third party program to download?

Hope I'm not breaking the T&C of the site by asking this, happy 'phoning!
