3125
Is there away to adjust the keypad backlight so it will stay on all the time when in use or longer than 10 sec. ?
Thanks, Tony

See if this works for you...

Settings --> Power Management --> Backlight timeout on battery (or AC) I tried Power Management and had it set to NEVER on both battery and AC and the keypad backlight still goes out about 10 sec. I even tried differant time settings. I'm wondering if there is something wrong with my phone or is that how it is? Thanks for the info, Tony

My wife's QTek 8500 keypad light does not seem to function correctly either. I am going flash with a newer ROM and see if that helps.

I just tried disabling keypad light in the Settings>Power Management>Light Sensor on my 3125 and it now will light up under any condition. So try it disabled. The Qtek will not do the same thing.

The Qtek will not do the same thing. I have no problem getting the Keypad to light up, I just want it to stay lit longer than 10 sec. The Power Management Settings for Backlight Time Out is just for the screen not keypad. Tony

Try this, it worked on my 3125.
HKEY_Current_USER->Control Panel->Backlight->Values->KeylightTimeout Mine was set to 15000. I believe it is 15000 milliseconds, ie. 15 seconds. I set it to 30000 and you guessed it the keypad stayed lit for 30 seconds.
If you aren't familiar with changing registry settings, proceed with caution...you can make your phone into a nice shiny paperweight.
Good luck...

Good luck... What is the latest and greatest registry edit app you folks are using on this specific unit please? Thanks

There are several that will get the job done. PHM Regedit is free, and should work. Total Commander is a free file explorer program that can also edit the registry. Then Resco Explorer has a registry program that works very well, but it does cost money. Of the 3 I think Resco is the easiest to use, but as I said costs money. PHM is probably the best free option.

There's a VERY GOOD freebie that runs from on your computer called MobileRegistryEditor. You have to be connected via ActiveSync to use it. I find it easier to do reg edits from a full sized keyboard and so I use it most of the time. I keep PHM on my phone - just in case as a backup to MobileRegistryEditor. Like if someone posts a reg edit here and I want to check it without hooking up to my PC. But, like I said, I use MobileRegistryEditor most the time.
