Hi all,

Being a new owner of mpx220 I have rom version 1.47 on my phone.

I have no problems with my phone other than battery life lasts approx 8 - 10 hours.....I am a heavy user.

My question is there any registry setting to help extend life of battery?

If not would it be possible to upgrade my phone from a 3.5 sprite backup from another MPX220..............does anyone have or know where I could get such a backup ????

I don't think there are any registry settings that are going to increase you battery life much. I would first try making sure I had adjusted all the available settings, like having the backlight turn off as quickly as possible, turning BT off when not in use, etc.

Sprite backs up all the additional info that a user places on the phone, not the actual ROM of the phone. It is impossible to upgrade the ROM through a Sprite Backup. You would have to get the ROM from somewhere, but don't bother asking us where. It is against the rules, we only post links to legal firmware upgrades like the 1.43 ROM on Motorola's website. You'll get the same answer I'm about to give you, Google.

Doing a sprite back up acoss different ROM versions gives shady results. I can only imagine doing that with a backup from a another MPx 220 with different registry settings would do. I WOULD NOT do a sprite back up across different ROM's no matter what MPx 220 it came from. If you want a ROM to be on your phone use the Offline Updater and get ahold of the ROM that you want. Don't use sprite to do this. While it will put the new ROM on your phone it could and possiably will hose your phone.

There are no registry edits to improve battery life.
