I am trying out a MPx220 and I was impatient with the initial charge so I started to sync and setup immediately on turning the phone on and by the time I had to leave work the first day, it was only on for 2 hours and up to 75% charge. Long story short, the battery is hosed and I am barely making it until night with a battery. It is ugly for sure. I guess I should have followed the manufacturers recommendation of a 24 hour charge.

I am just wondering if this is just me or do all 220's have horrible battery life?

Granted she isn't a power user, but my wife gets at least two full days out of her MPx220. I have the generic 3.7v 1000mAH battery that you can find on ebay though. It does last longer than the Moto one.

I get about 3 days but, thats with BT off and all GPRS activity cut off. Normally I get a day in a half depending on my GPRS usage.

Sean, I would drain the battery completly, I mean dead lol. Then charge the battery for a full 24 hours, then do a hard reset. This will condition and set the battery to the phone. Give it a try I bet you will see improved battery life. I get nearly 5 hours if I have the phone on flight mode and I just play music.

Mine CAN last three days without the bluetooth on and if I just ignore all my calls.
But usually, in the REAL WORLD, it'll last about two days.

I'm not 100% certain with the MPx220, but that was the case with the MPx200. I always leave receive incoming beams unticked anyways because I never receive incoming beams, but I think it does drain your battery more if you have it ticked.

Smeg is right, it keeps the IR on and if you have BT on it will cause BT to pull more power than it would just in its normal stand by mode.

I actually want to add an extra note on my earlier post:

I had the cingular rom 1.43 on the phone and the phone died after 2 days. I put asian 3.45 rom back and it lasted 4 days +hours.

100% true and guranteed with the factory unlocked mpx220's when they 1st came out before cingular.
