Yes, I am still alive, but life is hectic right now. Anyway, to the point.
I just recieved my case for my Tilt, and it is just the thing I have been missing for my phone to make me feel better. My job is very demanding and physical, it was only a matter of time until something happened to damage my phone. I am pleased with the case as it, in my opinion, gives the phone a more solid feel. That and the fact that I have greater peace of mind with carrying it in my pocket, and the added "bulk" is minimal. |

That topic and poll can be found HERE. There still doesn't seem to be a smartphone version available, but I heard rumor that they were thinking about it, or trying it out a while back. That is just rumor though and isn't anything that I got directly from any Landware reps. I am on my way "out the door" to Iraq this week for a pretty lengthy period with no internet so I won't be of much help in trying to get that ball rolling again, but hopefully someone around here will be able to step in on that front. Pocket Quicken is still something I REALLY miss, and wish I could have for my phone. The sync capabilities I had with it on my PPC in the past was great. |

Only way I know of is by using Papyrus by SBSH. I use it and it pretty much gives you the power of the PPC calendar in your smartphone. I think it is well worth the cost of the program, especially when paired with Facade. |

Un-freaking-believable!!! I wish I had more time to look into these things like I used to. There are some amazing devices on the horizon. Now here is hoping to the fact that Cingular will pick these beauties up before 08.
This phone is absolutely perfect for what my needs will be upon return from Iraq. Yes, normally I am a flipper kind of guy, but I need something with a quicker method of input, and I strongly prefer the Smartphone over the PPC (mainly because of custom-ability, I am more familiar with the ins and outs, and all the money I have invested into third party software for the SP platform). This phone does seem to have it all. Thank you all very much for the link. Looks like this thread helped more than one of us find their next device(s), or at least broadened the options... |

MAN OH MAN OH MAN! This has to be the Mecca of smartphones I have seen to come!!! Only one possible concern right off the bat would be of course battery life, the battery looks kinda weak for what this little thing packs. I still may go with the PPC that you listed though due to the fact I will have a VERY packed schedule that I would like to keep organized on the fly and a KB would help nicely with that. This is impressive though CODE Release Date: April, 2007 Predecessor Model: Dopod 710 / StrTrk S300 Dimensions: 97.5 x 52 x 16.8 millimetres Mass: 99 grams (battery included) Software Environment Operating System: Windows Mobile 6 Standard Microprocessor CPU: 32bit Samsung SC32442 CPU Clock: 400 MHz Memory, Storage capacity ROM capacity: 128 MB RAM capacity: 64 MB Hard Disk capacity: Not supported Display Display Type: color transflective TFT , 65536 scales Display Resolution: 240 x 320 Display Diagonal: 2.4 " Secondary Display Type: color transflective TFT , 65536 scales Secondary Display Resolution: 128 x 128 Secondary Display Diagonal: 1.2 " Sound Microphone: mono Speaker: mono Audio Output: Proprietary jack Cellular Phone Cellular Networks: GSM850, GSM900, GSM1800, GSM1900, UMTS850, UMTS1900, UMTS2100 Cellular Data Standards: CSD, GPRS, EDGE, UMTS, HSDPA Call Alert: 40 -chord melody Vibrating Alert: Supported Control Peripherals Positioning Device: Not supported Keyboard: Built-in numeric phone keyboard, 12 keys Directional Pad: 5 -way block Jog / Scroll Wheel: Not supported Interfaces Expansion Slots: SDIO, microSD, TransFlash Serial: RS-232 , 115200bit/s USB: USB 1.1 client, 12Mbit/s , Proprietary connector Bluetooth: Bluetooth 2.0 Wireless LAN: Not supported Multimedia Telecommunication Analog TV: Not supported Analog Radio: FM radio reciever Satellite Navigation Built-in GPS: SiRF Star III , 20 channels Built-in Digital Camera Main Camera: CMOS sensor, 1.9MP Built-in Flash: Not supported Secondary Camera: CMOS sensor, 640x480 pixel Power Supply Battery: Lithium-ion , removable Battery Capacity: 960 mAh |

I would like to post a fair warning to those that apply this reg edit. I have been a big fan of storing my emails and attachments to my card along with the IE stuff (cache, history, temp). However, recently I defaulted everything back to the phone memory due to a bug it can cause. The common bug with this with WM5 (this phone particularly) is that when you power cycle your phone, sometimes your card won't load quick enough or properly. The phone will see that these things according to the reg need to be on the storage card, so it will make that directory before the card is read, then once the card is read it will write it as Storage Card 2. You will only be able to access it through a file explorer. This becomes a royal pain in the rear because the way to fix it requires you to rename "Storage Card" to something like "Storage CardA", then power cycle the phone. 7 out of 10 times this will do the trick and you simply go in and delete "Storage CardA" and you are all set. It wasn't bad with my phone for the longest time, but it eventually got worse, and with the slow boot times on my phone it became unbearable at the fact that when I powered my phone off, and then turned it on later I would have to go through this process. Sometimes I would get to Storage CardE before it would catch. Just thought I would throw this out there as a fair warning, along with the note that emails don't take up as much space as you would think (even with attachments, depending on what they are). |
