Just wondering if anyone else out there has managed or notice if they roam onto an 850 band. I noticed today at work, where I have never gotten signal in the office on any phone that I have used with T-Mobile that I now have roaming coverage via Cingular. Cingular uses the 850 band in my specific area. As soon as I walk outside or upstairs it instantly switches back to T-Mobile, but in my office it goes right back to Cingular.

Just wondering if anyone else has noticed such things. My office is in a good signal area on the T-Mobile network, but the 1900 band just can't make it through the walls of the building that I work in...

I think when I was configuring the wap on the Connections section, I went to check preferred networks and actually found ATT and Cingular but they were all the way on bottom of the list and were bunch of T-mobiles ahead of them.

Mines doesn't change to any network, only stays with tmobile at all times, only sometimes I need to soft-reset so it can get a GSM signal.

I have my preferred networks as T-Mobile, Cingular, Buncho T-Mobile, Random various networks, then I actually had to check the box for AT&T so it would get recognized when/where needed...

I called T-Mobile (business accounts) this morning and asked how I would be billed for 850 MHz calls. The agent insisted it would be impossible to a 850 MHz-capable handset to acquire 850 service anywhere due to lack of roaming agreements between T-Mobile and 850MHz carriers. After explaining to the agent that I was making the clal while my SIM was in a v600 operating at 850, the agent proceeded to tell me that it was probably really roaming on a 1900mhz.

There is no 1900 GSM anywhere near where I was standing.

So does anyone have correct information on this? How is it billed?

Thanks.

Well according to T-Mobile, if you have a National Plan, and you have signal (reguardless of network) then you are good. I have roamed in areas that there are no listed roaming agreements and I have never been charged. If I am ever charged roaming I will fight it tooth and nail due to the contract agreements of no roaming...

I was at the Grand Canyon over the summer, on the Navajo Indian Community in a remote area of the 4 corners (where AZ, NM, CO and UT meet) and found myself roaming on AT&T GSM1900, made a call and the bill indicated that the call was included in-plan. Now to borrow someone's 850-capable phone and give it a test.

My locked 6315 will not switch to any other carriers. Is it because it is locked ? or do I have something set wrong?
