I made the mis-take of sync all my desktop contacts and want to delete them and start over without doing a hard re-set.

ok, while connected, i used the sync device explorer and found in "databases" the file called "contacts database"........ do you think it's safe/ok to delete that file?? I was thinking that after I deleted it ..it would re-create it and I can add a more reasonable amount of contacts.

The easy way to do this is just download the free trial of Jeyo Companion and you can easily edit, delete, backup, and mush else your phone contacts, SIM contacts, SMS messages etc. Who knows you may even want to buy it when your done. This is much easier than trying to mess with the phones databases.
