Mobile Gadget News :: Making Your Mobile Life Simpler _ Cingular 3125/Star Trek _ Latest HTC ROM Update

Posted by: fuel007one Jul 5 2007, 11:56 PM

I am looking to update the ROM/Firmware of my 3125 off of the download available on HTC's website and before doing so was wondering if anyone who has done this has any positive/negative feedback or noticed any appreciable changes since doing so.

Have backed everything up via Sprite on my card on the phone with Facade, Resco, etc.

Any feedback would be most welcome and thanks.

OK. Looks like this website (regardless of subforums; just look at the dates overall across the site) is as dead as a doornail.

Not even sure why this site is maintained.

Thanks one and all...................

Fuel, sorry you feel frustrated with no response. 40 some people have viewed your question. Maybe they didn't know the answer. I have loaded the latest http://www.america.htc.com/support/3125/software-downloads.htmlon my wife's phone and she has been a happy camper. Previously I had installed one of the i-Mate ROMS on it and she had a few complaints. I would go ahead and update. You are using Sprite, one of my all time favorite programs for the Windows Mobile platform.

Thank for the response Abatis. I am actually using Cingular/ATT (don't know how my profile had changed to the 8525) and the reason I posted it was that there seems to have been concerns with the latest ROM update at least on the Howard forums.

I have begun to experience same problem with this 3125 unit that I did with the previous one that had to be returned which is fading reception and subsequent dropped calls (will at times hear a "whooshing" sound whereafter the caller is lost and the ONLY way to end the call is to completely shut the unit down.

Thought that this HTC machine would be the Panzer Tank of smartphones but looks like I will now go thru a 3rd 3125....was hoping maybe the latest ROM update would help any of this.
