omega2008.... What price did they quote you? They wanted +$400.00 from me!! That's ridiculous! I have a call in to be company's rep at Cingular. Since when is it cheaper for consumers than B2B? I don't think the rep I spoke with knew what they were doing.

Just ordered mine as well . I know I am going to like it as long as the Cingular didn't disable any features or anything. I love my smartflip, but lack of ROM was my biggest complaint, and now I am fixing that with the same form factor with double ROM .

Now this could be of some interest to some of you... Too bad it requires activation of the Unlimited Data Connect Plan. I got my hopes up at first since I have unlimited data, just not the unlimited connect (too $$ for me). If anyone has that, then you could walk away with getting this phone for $49 (not including taxes and surcharges). Cingular Rebate Form [PDF]

That is pretty high....maybe you don't get that much of a discount or it could be a pricing error.

Actually, it did turn out to be a rep who didn't know anything.....Got a more helpful rep this morning, and mine is ordered (at an excellent price!!), and should arrive on Monday. By the way, there are pictures now surfacing showing that the 1100 mAh battery does make the phone a little thicker, but I am happy with that sacrifice for an extended battery life. I'm sure that the 750 mAh battery is available from on-line retailers if one wanted a slimmer version. I'm not sure whether it would need a different backplate. Perhaps GrYphOn or somone else with a Smartflip or Qtek could comment on this.

When I first started using my smartflip, I thought the battery was pretty good. But then again my first month with it was pretty much spent in flight mode (in the middle of the ocean). Now that I am home, I have relized how much of a power user I am, and how this battery just doesn't hold up like I feel it should. I need a mid-day charge usually, which isn't a huge deal because I am usually around a charger, so it hasn't been a major complaint on my end. Now about the back, yes if you get the smaller battery you will need a "tighter' back for it. This phone is weird, there have been a few times when I would have to shut it off via battery removal, but I don't have to remove the battery, just slide the back off, rest out, pop on, and the phone restarts itself. The back pretty much holds the battery in place to ensure connection. Personally I do nothing but welcome the larger battery. I will take some comparison pics (if I remember) when my 3125 gets here.

Is anyone willing to help an MGN buddy with T-Mobile get this phone?

I've been eyeing this phone for months now, like others here...lol...I just bought an Mpx220 b/c my SMT5600's charging port died Would have easily done a contract extention and paid $149 for this...Guess I'll wait a few months til this gets cheaper/eBay or T-Mobile gets something similar (highly doubtful). Or maybe take Gryphon's imate for $100?...j/k

Looks sweet.

Mine is out for delivery so I should have it around 11:30 (since I'll be in meetings until then)... Well at least my trip to South Dakota was a little productive. Nothing like topless bars and new cell phones.

South Dakota - that is a good place to hunt pheasants. - bars, you must have been in Rapid City.
My 3125 is now out for delivery as well. I think Cingular does a great job of keeping a new subscriber informed. 1. I received an email confirming my order instantly after purchase. 2. They followed that up with an email that linked to a manual and startup guide for Cngular users. 3. Their fulfillment department emailed me to let me know they had my order in process. 4. They emailed me with a tracking number for the order. 5. This morning they emailed me with a tracking update - and it was in Denver being dispatched for delivery.
Very nice customer care by Cingular.

I'd love to see some comparision pics of the two side by side. So you can't use the smaller Smartflip battery and door on the 3125 if you don't want the larger hump?

I've been working my way through the today's posts, starting with the oldest ones. So, on another thread, I asked about using the built in media buttons to control another player other than Windows Media Player.
Gryphon - in that post I asked specifically about your Smartflip. But, now that I read you have your Cingular 3125, I'd like to know the same thing on this phone. Can you get the outside buttons to control TCPMP for example?
