There is a post in our General Discussion forum section from someone named "mark" mentioning that GSMLocker.com is selling the Moto firmware and what a "Great price" it is.

Unlock MPx200 for 1800/1900/900 MHz

BEWARE!! This appears to be the same Firmware that most of us have already gotten for free. GSMLocker.com is charging $99.99 for it. What a ripoff. I could understand someone MAYBE selling a CD of the firmware (hard copy) for a minimal price to cover the cost of the cd and copying time, but this is just insane.

No matter what, there's always someone trying to take advantage of other people.

Personally I will never do business with GSMLocker.com now.

This is terrible. What is worse is, we are still not 100% sure it does actually unlock the 900mhz band.

I agree, this is terrible - appearantly they are watching our forums and have now priced it at $29.99 and trying to combine it with unlocking, a puppy dog tactic to give their service value. I hope new MPx200 users visit us first so they'll know to avoid their shop.

Well atleast if we can't stop them from doing it completely, we've atleast influenced them in changing that rediculous price. As I've said, I could see a nominal fee, like $5 if they're providing a CD with the firmware on it with instructions on how to install and a guarantee if something goes wrong, but $30 is just a total ripoff.

I checked it it is $4.99 plus $2.50 shipping on EBay, I guess $29.99 is for those who are in the hurry, but it includes unlocking too

The thing is, their unlocking service for the MPx200 is only $12.99, so that means they're charging $17.99 for the firmware. Still outrageously priced and a total ripoff if you ask me.

but the question that i want answered is, are these firmwares same??? Do you think there might be a second firmware released by motorola? Maybe we got the beta firmware that doesnt always unlock the 900 band and there could be a final release that these people are selling? what do you all think? Whats the refund policy on the firmware that the website is welling for? Maybe someone should buy it and see if it actually works..someone who has the access to 900 band maybe in europe or asia? What do u all think? I life in USA but i will visit europe and asia next summer...so im truely wondering if this is the case???

"Get a grip people, you could always pay GSMLocker.com $100 if you want it so bad."

That to me was kinda like him saying that they have very good working firmware but the price is high. And to me the money really isn't the object if I really want something I have to have it.But now as I read over his post I also see a huge hint of sarcasm or whatever you would call it so I guess I was seeing what I wanted to see.

I don't really read that the way you did. But then again I have known Sean for a while. I hardly call than an endorsement though.

Now this thread shows what a glowing recommendcation might look like.
